Why I will not play SWTOR

I'm not a big fan of Star Wars, though I liked the movies nonetheless. Star Wars The Old Republic has released three very epic cinematics, which really made me want to play the game but seeing the actual gameplay I was turned off by the graphic style they used.

Certainly game doesnt have to have realistic graphics or style, look at Minecraft for example. Even World of Warcraft had a cartoony look but the whole game was based of Warcraft 3, so it was to be expected. Incase of SWTOR they could have gone a bit more like their cinematics or Star Wars The Force Unleashed style.

Well it's only my personal opinion and it does not change the fact that overall the game will probably be pretty successful. Now it only has to overcome small obstacles, stability issues and providing content for the players.

Warcraft 3 Reign of Chaos and The Frozen Throne

Warcraft 3 Reign of Chaos and the expansion pack The Frozen Throne.

It starts with a young prince Arthas, who is a young paladin under Uther. In a world full of orcs, undead, nightelves and unknown powers. The story is about Arthas, who is consumed by power and betrays his human race but there are several characters in their respective sides like an orc shaman named Thrall and Illidan Stormspirit a nightelf. Even if you can't be bothered with playing the game there is always cheat codes because the only thing interesting is the lore. Certainly now the Warcraft lore is passed on in an MMO called World of Warcraft and you can learn more in wiki.

Gantz

Gantz is my favourite manga. The series is written and illustrated by Hiroya Oku. The story revolves over Kei Kurono and his old friend Masaru Kato, who die in a train accident and become part of a semi-posthumus game in which they and several other recently deceased people are forced to hut down and kill aliens or monsters of some sort with a handful of futuristic armor and weapons.

The manga series has well over 32 volumes and a 26 Episode anime adaption. They also made live action movies about the manga. So it's safe to say the whole concept is interesting and deserves to be read.

Personally I like it because it's a mature manga with none of the shounen elements in it except the epic ones. It displays human nature and the will to survive whatever it takes. While reading it you might find yourself getting shivers because the amount of epicness is overwhelming.

Hideout

It is a very dark night. Under a heavy rain, a determined man sets out to track his terrified victim. The decision of Kirishima Seiichi is clear: Tonight, he will kill his wife.

A year ago, he was a happy man - a successful writer, a contented husband, and a father of a young boy... at that time, everything seemed going well for him. But such happiness had to end. The day his editor put an end to their collaboration, darkness seeped into his life faster than a bullet. A terrifying descent into hell commences, page by page of what it seems to be his last novel...

At the moment it only has 7 chapters but the setting and story is more or less good therefore readable

Guild Wars 2

I have been playing MMORPGs since I was a kid, so I have a pretty clear understanding what a MMO game should look like and feel. From what I've seen Guild Wars 2 might be that game, bear in mind I have not played the first one. Reason being that the game wasn't open world and at that time it kinda threw me off but the GW2 has improved a lot in several aspects yet retaining everything good that the first game had.

Reasons to buy Guild Wars 2:

1. No monthly fee (you need to buy the game once), as an old WoW player I know what it feels like when you have to pay for it every month and specially if you are a student with no stable income.

2. No designated healers or tanks. Every class has it's own way to heal and avoiding enemy's attacks, so basically if someone in your party dies all the time then he isn't playing the game properly. That doesn't mean others can't heal or ressurect fellow party members.

3. Production quality. When I stopped playing games with monthly subscription I always tried several free to play games and often I would quit because the controls were awkward and the game overall felt stiff. Incase of GW2 it is probably safe to say it will be good.

Overall Guild Wars 2 will probably be a very popular game, meaning it's so good that most of the people will be drawed into it.

Guild Wars 2 is supposedly released in the early 2012.
